Generous staffing levels and a commitment to training means there is time and skills to provide good quality person-centred care.
The team is highly trained and seriously devoted to their caring vocation. Simeon is aligned with the NHS Camphill Medical Practice and Well-Being Trust and we have formed excellent partnerships with local GP practices and district nurses. Residents have regular access to their choice of GP and the full range of NHS services.
Residents’ physical, emotional and spiritual well-being is further supported by therapies provided by other health and social care professionals, including the Simeon care team who are trained to use a range of prescribed natural remedies and treatments.
Simeon is staffed and managed by professional nurses and carers. A core team of co-workers live in Simeon with their families, while others are employed and come into work. Simeon is further supported by dedicated volunteers both locally based and from all around the world. Mostly young people, they live and work in Simeon from 6 to 12 months where they receive first class training in care of the elderly and experience life in a Camphill community.
For the care team, Simeon is more than just a place of work – it is their ‘second home’.
We believe that a community that includes people of different generations, cultures and abilities enriches all our lives.
“My experience of the managers and staff at Simeon has repeatedly left me with enormous respect and admiration for their exceptional vision, dedication and fundamental genuine care for all those that they assist” Managing Director, Concerto Training Services
